Clarity for leaders navigating international markets and institutional environments.
I help organisations make confident strategic decisions by interpreting signals across the UK, Latin America and Sub‑Saharan Africa.

What I Do
I help leaders make sense of international markets and institutional environments.
My work gives organisations the clarity they need to make confident strategic decisions. It reduces strategic risk, shortens decision cycles and prevents costly misalignment with the institutions that shape market outcomes.I focus on three areas.
Strategic Clarity
Understanding what is happening in a market, what matters, and what does not.
This includes interpreting signals from governments, institutions and markets, backed by market intelligence that keeps decisions anchored in reality.
Cross Border Positioning
Helping organisations shape a clear and credible position when operating across borders.
This involves understanding how narrative lands in different markets, how institutions think, and how to align strategy with the realities of the UK, Latin America and Sub‑Saharan Africa.
It often includes coordinating relationships across governments, investors and ecosystem actors to ensure alignment and momentum.
Decision Support
Providing senior judgement to help leaders decide what to do next.
This includes sequencing, timing, alignment and identifying the practical steps that reduce uncertainty and move an organisation forward.
Where needed, I stay involved beyond the strategy; joining meetings, making introductions or stepping in to support early execution when a decision needs an owner, not just an advisor.
How Engagements Work
Most engagements draw on two or three areas at once . They are not fixed packages, They' are the clearest way to answer "what would you actually be paying for."
Geographies I Serve
United Kingdom
The UK is home and the centre of gravity for much of my advisory work. It is where I am based and where I have spent two decades working with markets, institutions and government. I help organisations navigate the UK’s political, regulatory and institutional landscape by interpreting signals, understanding how decisions are shaped and aligning clients with the pathways that matter. For international companies entering or expanding in the UK, this often includes market entry, institutional navigation and regulatory alignment, delivered through a clarity‑based, systems‑level lens.
The Americas
The Americas form a core part of the corridor I work in. My experience across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, the Caribbean and the United States has centred on understanding how political‑economic systems, institutional incentives and commercial realities interact across a complex hemisphere. I help leaders interpret the signals that shape opportunity — from shifting regulatory priorities to the on‑the‑ground dynamics that determine how decisions land.My work today focuses on cross‑border investment, internationalisation and emerging South–South trade corridors as Latin America deepens its engagement with Sub‑Saharan Africa and the wider Global South.
Sub-Sahara Africa
Sub‑Saharan Africa is a region where political‑economic systems, institutional incentives and market signals intersect in ways that shape investment and opportunity. Grounded in my Ghanaian heritage and ongoing advisory work with government teams and Africa‑focused founders, I help organisations interpret institutional behaviour, align with ecosystem actors and position themselves within Africa’s evolving investment narrative. My work includes investment facilitation, trade corridor development and advisory support for organisations building new LATAM–Africa pathways as South–South systems deepen across the Global South.
How I Work
Confidentiality is central to my work. Most of the organisations I support operate in sensitive institutional or cross‑border environments, so I work discreetly and do not name clients unless explicitly agreed.
Senior level engagement — no delegation, no junior layers
Low volume, high trust model — selective, discreet, relationship driven
Clarity and narrative discipline — every engagement produces assets that travel
Cross border fluency — commercial, political, and ecosystem lenses combined
Outcome oriented — strategy that moves people, not just documents
Evidence-led, not just relationship-led — targeting, prioritisation and narrative are built on structured analysis, not just who I know.
Selected Work
The case studies below are anonymised. Much of my work takes place in sensitive institutional, political‑economic or cross‑border environments, so I do not name clients unless explicitly agreed. Each example reflects real advisory work delivered through a clarity‑based, systems‑level lens.
Cross‑border strategy and government‑adjacent advisory — guiding companies from early market understanding and regulatory clarity through to site selection, ecosystem engagement and operational landing.
Government‑adjacent advisory — supporting leaders navigating political‑economic context, institutional incentives and stakeholder pathways.
Mission‑driven trade and economic‑development initiatives — Advising on Freeports, SEZs and ecosystem‑building initiatives, including value‑proposition design and international engagement.
Narrative and collateral development for international positioning — Sharpening the story leaders tell to governments, investors and global partners.
Stakeholder orchestration across public and private actors — Building momentum across governments, corporates, investors and ecosystem actors.
Insight and IP creation for South–South trade and emerging‑market platforms — Developing strategic intelligence and frameworks for Africa–LATAM cooperation

About Lartey Global Advisory

Lartey Global Advisory exists for leaders operating in environments where institutional behaviour and commercial decisions intersect. Over two decades working in and alongside UK government, including senior roles with the UK Department for Business and Trade, EY and PA Consulting, I have advised start‑ups, SMEs and multinationals across a wide range of sectors and geographies. This experience has shaped a systems‑level view of how markets, institutions and capital move across borders.Today I focus that lens on the corridor between the UK, Latin America and Sub‑Saharan Africa. It is one of the most underdeveloped and highest‑potential trade relationships when viewed through the systems forming beneath it rather than the traditional North‑North or North‑South framing most analysis defaults to.My work is grounded in the belief that clarity is a strategic asset. In high‑stakes situations, outcomes are shaped as much by context, timing and narrative as by strategy itself. I help leaders interpret these dynamics, align the people and institutions that matter, and move decisions with confidence.Charles Lartey
